Swim Lessons
The Langley Swim Team coaches are offering private swim lessons for a variety of levels. Each private lesson will be 30 or 40 minutes long. The beginner lessons are for those who are learning to swim or who are still learning the basic strokes. Intermediate and Advanced lessons are for swimmers who are working towards mastery or have mastered the fundamentals of the four basic strokes and are looking to improve their technique. The advanced lessons are ideally suited for swimmers who are competing in swim meets and are looking to move up to the next level.

Marina Watson

Hey!! My name is Marina Watson and I’ve been part of the Langley Wildthings swim team for the past 12 years. This team has been such a huge part of my life, and I’m beyond excited to be coming back this summer as an assistant coach. I recently graduated from Langley High School, where I was a team captain of the Langley swim and dive team, and I’ll be heading to the University of South Carolina this fall as a freshman. I swam year-round with Machine Aquatics for 8 years and spent 3 of those on the National Team, where I competed at very high level meets. I’ve been a junior coach at Langley for the past 4 years and have been teaching swim lessons for the past 3. I’ve also worked as a lifeguard for the past 2 years and am CPR and AED certified. I’ve loved every second of working with kids in the water and helping them build their confidence and skills. I can’t wait to bring that same energy, fun, and love for the sport to the pool this season. Let’s make it the best summer yet Wildthings!

I am looking forward to coaching again this summer and cannot wait to see you all at the pool whether it be for practice, meets, or lessons!!

When I am not at the pool, I am a full time nurse at INOVA Fairfax, in the Pediatric Emergency Department! I am excited to have the opportunity to coach part time, to stay connected with the Wildthings. However, I will be balancing coaching with nursing this summer, so please feel free to reach out to me if you can’t find a time that works for you or your swimmer. I would be more than happy to add additional times as needed, and as my schedule allows.

Bensten Schone – Learn to Swim to Intermediate

I have been a part of the Wildthing family for 11 years, starting with mini Wildthings when I was 6 years old. Back when I was a mini Wildthing, I remember loving the sport because of the positive energy and enthusiasm the coaches brought. I aim to do the same and give the amazing experience I remember. This is my third year as an official junior coach and I coached winter Wildthings during the past two winters. I believe that swimming is one of the most important things to learn, because regardless of if you decide to swim competitively or not, it is a skill that you can use all throughout your life. Whether it be learn to swim, getting comfortable in water, I’d love to help any younger swimmers enjoy swimming as much as I do.
