Swim Lessons
The Langley Swim Team coaches are offering private swim lessons for a variety of levels. Each private lesson will be 30 or 40 minutes long. The beginner lessons are for those who are learning to swim or who are still learning the basic strokes. Intermediate and Advanced lessons are for swimmers who are working towards mastery or have mastered the fundamentals of the four basic strokes and are looking to improve their technique. The advanced lessons are ideally suited for swimmers who are competing in swim meets and are looking to move up to the next level.

I have been a part of the Wildthing family for the past sixteen years, starting in Mini Wildthings when I was six years old. I love swimming and I can’t wait to be able to coach at the LC again this summer! The Wildthings have been so supportive over the years, and there is nothing more fun than summer swim team. Whether it be learn to swim as a child or an adult, or competitive technique work, I would love to swim with you!

I am a recent graduate of the Boston College Connell School of nursing school, where I also swam on the Varsity Swim Team. I formerly swam on the National Team for Machine Aquatics. I began swimming competitively for Machine at age eight. Throughout high school I qualified for States, was a Langley HS swim team captain, and was a two event qualifier for NCSA’s. I have been a coach for the Winter Wildthings program, as well as an assistant coach for the Wildthings the past four summers. Last year, I began working with Fitter and Faster, as an assistant elite clinician for their swim camps! This past year I had the honor of receiving the “Rookie clinician of the year” award. I am looking forward to coaching again this summer and cannot wait to see you all at the pool whether it be for practice, meets, or lessons!!

Beginning in August I will begin working in the INOVA Fairfax Pediatric Emergency Department! I am excited to have the opportunity to coach before doing so. I will be balancing studying for the nursing boards this summer, so please feel free to reach out to me if you can’t find a time that works for you or your swimmer. I would be more than happy to add additional times as needed!

Chris Bunn – Learn to Swim to Intermediate

Hey! My name is Chris Bunn and I am happy to serve as an Assistant Coach for the 2023 Wildthings’ season. I’ve been involved in the NVSL for 13 years, recently switching to the Wildthings in 2021. I have 11 years of club swimming experience, first swimming with York Swim Club then switching to Machine Aquatics in 2018. I am a sophomore studying Business Management, Psychology and Marketing Communications at Wake Forest University. I look forward to working with your Wildthings!

Bensten Schone – Learn to Swim to Intermediate

I have been a part of the Wildthing family for 10 years, starting with mini Wildthings when I was 6 years old. Back when I was a mini Wildthing, I remember loving the sport because of the positive energy and enthusiasm the coaches brought. I aim to do the same and give the amazing experience I remember. This is my second year as an official junior coach. I coached winter Wildthings during the off season, and volunteered without getting paid the summer of 2022. I believe that swimming is one of the most important things to learn, because regardless of if you decide to swim competitively or not, it is a skill that you can use all throughout your life. Whether it be learn to swim, getting comfortable in water, I’d love to help any younger swimmers enjoy swimming as much as I do.
